Pretoria Girl wins award

Pick n Pay School Club, currently in its seventh year, is responsible for providing free educational material to over 2,000 schools, 1.5 million learners and 70,000 educators around South Africa.
In recognition of the outstanding work in the various competitions that were part of Pick n Pay School Club 2010 both learners and schools were rewarded with certificates as well as amazing cash prizes.
Mikal Botha of Laerskool Menlopark won the third prize in the Healthy World Award category.

Skaak kampioen

Pieter Reyneke, Graad 1 leerling van die Laerskool Swartkop, het derde plek in sy afdeling in die onlangse Menlopark 30/30 Skaak Toernooi behaal.
Hy is ook aangewys as die beste Graad 1 Speler en is genooi om aan die proewe op 27 & 28 Augustus deel te neem.

SA se beste jong boer met bakkie beloon

Toyota Suid-Afrika en Agri SA het weer eens kragte saamgesnoer vir die Jong Boer van die Jaar-kompetisie.
Dit is vanjaar die sewende jaar dat Toyota SA en Agri SA saamwerk en vanjaar sal die wenner weer ’n Hilux-bakkie as prys ontvang.
Die jong boer van die jaar en die wenner van die New Harvest-kompetisie sal elk ’n bakkie tydens ’n gekombineerde gala-geleentheid in November vanjaar ontvang.
Die Jong Boer van die Jaar-kompetisie is die sameloop van nege provinsiale kompetisies waaraan jong boere van 18 tot 35 jaar oud deelneem.

A Casual Celebration

Casual Day exceeded all expectations by raising over R17.7 million for persons with disabilities in the 2009 campaign.
This amount was made public at the Casual Day Show and Tell functions hosted across South Africa.
This the result of every R10 donation made by South Africans country wide that wore a Casual Day sticker on 4 September last year.
