Mandela Day to highlight Education and Literacy

Mandela Day is a reminder for people to help those who are in need, either because they are in poverty, conflict or face injustice.
“It is a reminder of a time where we have to make a life worth living for every single human being,” Graca Machel, the wife of late President Nelson Mandela said during the launch of Mandela Day on 9 June 2016 in Tembisa.

Cansa Shavathon to be hosted between 27 February and 4 March 2016

Cansa Shavathon is one of South Africa’s major events in showing solidarity with those affected by cancer.
Losing one’s hair is a common side-effect of cancer therapy – so shaving your head has become a symbolic gesture of support for cancer survivors.

SACBW Centurion new committee elected

The SACBW was founded in 1985 and with its branches throughout the country, represents women in business.
It is also the only women’s organization affiliated to the Afrikaanse Handelsinstituut (AHi) enabling them to participate on a top level of influence with regards to the South African business climate.

Congratulations to Mrs South Africa 2016

Candice Abrahams from Johannesburg was crowned as Mrs South Africa 2016 at a gala event featuring top South African talent, celebrities, dancers and designers.
Aldytha da Silva was crowned first princess and Marlene Naiker won second princess.
While Riandi Conradie who raised the most funds for CANSA during her tenure as a finalist was crowned Mrs Charity 2016 and Pamela Marlowe won the Mrs Personality title, voted for by her fellow contestants.

Local Beauty top finalist for Miss Deaf South Africa 2015

The Miss Deaf South Africa Pageant (MDSA) is a non-profitable organization founded in 1997 by Gert and Narda Els, a couple who from personal experience understands the difficulties of the life of those with hearing impairment.

Celebrating Women’s Month

National Women’s Day is a South African public holiday celebrated annually on 9 August.
The day commemorates the 1956 march of approximately 20 000 women to the Union Buildings in Pretoria to petition against the country’s pass laws that required South Africans defined as “black” under the Population Registration Act to carry an internal passport, known as a pass, that served to maintain population segregation, control urbanisation, and manage migrant labour during the apartheid era.
