I have been pondering about the celebrations of Mandela Day and the 67 minutes people will be using to do good to all underprivileged communities throughout South Africa.
Now it appeared to me that some companies getting involved are only doing their 67 minutes to receive free publicity in the media.
When asking some of these companies to contribute to their exposure in the media (community newspapers also need to survive as a business), they refused as they “did not budget” for that and it is “not their target market.”
Makes one wonder …

Every month we are celebrating and the month of May is Mother’s Day celebrations.
Every season has its own beauty and I am still contemplating if the changing colours of the leaves on the trees and bushes in autumn are …

For us sports-junkies, we are not very happy with the performances of our various national teams but there are individuals that …

The year is running out and everyone is rushing to finalise their work before closing business for the holidays.
It is also the final stretch for final year students, matriculants and primary school learners and we wish them all well with their exams.

We are also anxious to see who will win the Webb Ellis trophy. The Springboks have disappointed all (and perhaps also themselves) with their loss against Japan in the Rugby …

With winter comes the flu virus! So many people from small kids to the elderly have been affected with this virus and had to spend time in hospital.
One such person is our co-worker, John Lemmon that had to spend five weeks in hospital after pneumonia caused multiple organ failure and it took time for him to be able to walk again.
However, with the grace of God, John was one of the blessed ones that are still alive. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those families that have lost their …
