Paper Cutting from Shaanxi of China

The Pretoria Art Museum, in partnership with the Embassy of China and SANAVA (South African National Association for the Visual Arts), is proud to present the exhibition Paper Cutting from Shaanxi of China.
This exhibition forms part of the Chinese New Year celebrations and will be opened by the Chinese ambassador to South Africa, Zhong Jianhua, on 16 February 2011 at 18:00 for 18:30.
Paper cutting from the Shaanxi Province of China is held in high regard throughout the world.
UNESCO has listed this art form on the World Cultural Heritage directory.

Hoërskool Uitsig sien uit na 2011

Dr Jan Visagie, die nuwe hoof van Hoërskool Uitsig sedert 1 November 2010, is baie positief oor hierdie nuwe jaar en vertrou dat die skool weer die 100% slaagsyfer van 2010 in 2011 sal herhaal. Nuwe personeel vir 2011 is ook deur Dr Visagie verwelkom.

The organisers of the SA Tennis Open and the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve have come up with a brilliant way to ensurethat as many people as possible get to enjoy the most important tennis tournament in South Africa, helping South Africa’s threatened rhino population at the same time.

Kunsuitstalling gee jong gestremdes hoop

Solidariteit Helpende Hand nooi alle jong gestremde kunstenaars uit om deel te wees van ʼn buitengewone kunsuitstalling waar jong gestremde kunstenaars hul unieke, ekspressionistiese kuns vir die wêreld kan wys.
“Die kunsuitstalling is ʼn viering van pragtige kunswerke en unieke beeldhouwerk en het ten doel om geld in te samel om jong kunstenaars met gestremdhede die geleentheid te gee om hul kuns verder te ontwikkel,” sê dr. Danie Langner, uitvoerende direkteur van Solidariteit Helpende Hand.

Laerskool Wierdapark getal leerders groei

Die Laerskool Wierdapark het hierdie jaar ongeveer 80 meer nuwe leerders as verlede jaar ontvang en spog nou met ‘n totaal van 1515 leerders. Dit is die meeste leerders wat die skool nog in sy 34-jarige bestaan gehad het. Ongeveer 40 nuwe inskrywings is vanuit ander grade ontvang en moes daar twee addisionele Graad R klasse bygevoeg word.
