Fan’s Farewell for Springbok Squad

The Springboks depart for New Zealand on 1 September 2011 with a public farewell from Sandton Square in Johannesburg.
Thousands of fans are expected to pack Sandton for a Fan’s Farewell, as the team makes an on-stage appearance in Nelson Mandela Square before walking to the Gautrain station where they will travel with a group of lucky supporters to OR Tambo International Airport.
The “Fans’ Farewell” is a joint initiative between SARU, Lead SA, SuperSport, Absa and the Department of Sport and Recreation.

Spring is in the air! One can smell it in the air! The birds are singing, building their nests and trees, scrubs and flowers are starting to bud.
With the start of Spring, everyone is busy dusting the winter cobwebs and cleaning their homes. Don’t throw anything away, give it to the charity shops at Irene Homes, Centurion Hospice, the SPCA or any other charity organisation that collects and sell the articles to raise much needed funds.

Bread tags for Wheelchairs
Bread tags are made from high impact polystyrene and have a reasonable recycling market value.
If one collects 270kg of bread tags from family, friends and neighbours, the Polystyrene Packaging Council will give a basic wheelchair to the value of R1350.00 for you or any person / organisation of your choice.
More than 100 wheelchairs have since the project started in Port Elizabeth, been donated through this project to paraplegics who could not afford to buy their own.

Business Care Award winner for August 2011

The winner of the August 2011 Business Care Award sponsored by ABSA, is Marle Venske who is also an employee at ABSA, Centurion. She was awarded for the exceptional assistance, service and care she offers to customers and other staff members.
Vijay Padayachee, ABSA Regional Manager, Centurion handed her the certificate and also presented Marlene with the ABSA Bank’s own Personnel Performance award of 250 Rubies for the exceptional duties.

Die toekoms van koerante

Die Centurion Sakekamer se Augustus netwerkfunksie is by Duo of Dreams, Raslouw gehou.
Die gasspreker was SArel du Plessis, onder andere voorsitter: SAARF (South African Advertising Research Foundation) en ook die Hoof Uitvoerende Beampte by Rapport.
Sarel se toespraak het gehandel oor wat die toekoms van koerante en advertensies in die veranderde sosiale media omgewing is. Hy het ook versekei vrae van die teenwoordigers geantwoord.
