The month of February are generally known as the Month of Love when we celebrate Valentine’s Day on 14 February.
I suggest that we declare the whole year as the Year of Love and give flowers and chocolates to our love ones. That way we can create a positive atmosphere that will generate positive reaction and all the positivity can make the world a much more loved place.
People would be more caring about one another and businesses will be inclined to prosper more than before. What do you think of this …

How Valentine’s Day started

As early as the fourth century B.C., the Romans engaged in an annual young man’s rite of passage to the god Lupercus.
The names of teenage women were placed in a box and drawn at random by adolescent men; thus, a man was assigned a woman companion, for their mutual entertainment and pleasure (often sexual), for the duration of a year, after which another lottery was staged.

Kiddies learn to bake

Hirsch’s Centurion store was a hive of activity when forty kids arrived to attend a Kiddies Cooking Class.
PRO Joanne Brunette organised the event with Marilou Erasmus and Tiaan Venter from Whirlpool and they showed the kids how easy it is to mix, bake and decorate cupcakes.
The kids enjoyed the event and enquired when the next event will take place.

Sleep Apnea – a potentially serious condition

People with sleep apnea stop breathing for short periods of time while they are asleep.
Obstructive sleep apnea is the most common and is caused when your throat muscles relax, blocking your airway.
The other type, central sleep apnea, is caused when your brain doesn’t send the right signals to the muscles that control your breathing.
Some people have a combination of the two types, called complex sleep apnea.

Biz Mix Centurion held first meeting

The Centurion Biz Mix Network to provide an engagement platform between consumers and businesses was launched in November 2014.
This network provides a cost effective advertising and media platform which reduces marketing costs and ultimately translates into greater value for the consumer.

Centurion Business Forum first network meeting a huge success

The Centurion Business Forum held their first network meeting for 2015 on 21 January 2015 that was well attended by 140 people and hosted by Open Window, Irene.
Members from the Capital City Business Chamber also attended the event.
Prof Elfriede Dreyer, Executive Dean, was the keynote speaker and the topic of discussion was how personal development can lead to success.
New members as well as those who renewed their membership for the year, were introduced and eight new members joined on the day.

SACBW Centurion start the year with a Casual Event

The SA Council for Business Women, Centurion Branch held their first networking event for the year at Mugg & Bean, Centurion Mall with about 90 ladies attending.
Carina Nel, Chairperson welcomed all and introduced the committee members. She also briefed the ladies on the projects undertaken by the SACBW Centurion Branch.
Collection tins were handed to the ladies and car stickers were sold – both to collect funds for the iDuc Project which assist abused women and children.

Another Successful Ladies Morning

Hirsch’s Centurion first Ladies Morning for 2015 was attended by almost 50 ladies.
The guest speaker Suzanne Gell, a certified RAW Nutritionist explained the benefits of superfoods and the use of organic produce. She alos offered guidelines on how to reach your maximum potential through the use of proper nutrition.
Some of the finalists for the Margaret Hirsch Businesswomen of The Year 2014 were in attendance and all guests were invited to attend the Gala Evening on 18 February 2015.
Lucky draws were held where after the ladies did some serious networking.
