Prysgeld ter waarde van meer as miljoen vir Entrepreneurs

Die Akademia Sakeplankompetisie vir 2015 met ’n prysgeld ter waarde van meer as R1,2 miljoen is onlangs geloods.
Die kompetisie, wat ten doel het om nuwe en bestaande entrepreneurs te help om hulself en hul besigheid beter te verstaan en volhoubaar te maak, beleef reeds sy derde jaar en het reeds ʼn paar suksesverhale opgelewer.
Van die deelnemers aan die vorige jare se kompetisie spog reeds met groot bedrae se investering, uitvoergeleenthede van produkte en nasionale bekendstelling en bemarkingsgeleenthede wat deur hul deelname aan die kompetisie ontsluit is.

New face at Centurion Business Forum’s Office

The Management of the Centurion Business Forum (CBF) appointed Charmaine Murugan for the administration of the Forum’s office with effect from 1 April 2015.
Charmaine’s husband, Neville received a transfer from Durban to Centurion two years ago and she decided to stay at home while their sons, Tevin (20) and Marklyn (18) were studying.
With the sons now independent, Charmaine was looking to join a dynamic company and she is looking forward to a long and happy future with the CBF.

Casual Day raised R28 million

Casual Day is the flagship project of the National Council for Persons with Physical Disabilities in South Africa (NCPPDSA).
They lobby for the rights of persons with disabilities at both the government and corporate level and they acknowledged the selfless work of their ambassadors and the media, who helped spread the message.
Casual Day ambassador and disability rights activist Terry Ann Adams last year took up the challenge to educate South Africans about disability.

Change your Attitude to Improve your Life

Motivational speaker, Dr Ernrich Basson was the guest speaker at the Centurion Business Forum’s (CBF) monthly network function held on 18 March 2015.
His inspired topic of discussion was how a change in attitude could change and improve your life and business.
The chairperson, Johan (Lappies) Labuschagne also reported that the CID Project around the Centurion Mall has already brought some improvement by reducing the crime in the area by up to 47%.

An exciting Ladies Sewing Workshop has been organised by Nilla’s Needlecraft from 12 -13 May 2015.The workshop will entail sewing and lots of fun with fabric colouring and dyes as well as needlework projects and will end on a high note with quilting fun.

SACBW Centurion reik uit met Broodjie-projek

Die SACBW Centuriontak het besluit om ‘n Broodjieprojek as een van hulle uitreikprojekte vir die jaar van stapel te stuur.
Fondse word tydens elke maand se netwerkfunksie ingesamel en dan word die geld aan ‘n skool geskenk om kos aan behoeftige kinders van die skool te voorsien.
Die eerste skool wat by hierdie projek gebaat het, is die Hoërskool Zwartkop en die hoof, dr Dewald Strydom het die donasie in ontvangs geneem.

Social Network in action

A network event with a difference took place when Ditasa held an event at their offices in March 2015.
The guest speaker, Ockert Möller explained the importance of networking and one should not only collect business cards, you must follow upon the connection you made.

The importance of a sustainable network

The topic of the SACBW Centurion’s monthly network event for April 2015 was networking.
The guest speaker, Amalia van Jaarsveld, from Media Passion PR discussed how networking could be sustainable.
She also emphasized that to be successful at networking one should be yourself and she used the letters of her name to illustrate her sustainable networking success.
Other speakers on the topic of networking were Martie Kruger (Martie’s Salon), Linda Levendag (Dragonfly Media and Design) and Natascha Pienaar (The Computer Guys).

Discussing the Origin and Brewing of Coffees

The Guest Speaker at the recent networking meeting at Hirsch’s Centurion was Barista, Harry Mole.
Harry has been full-time in the coffee industry for the past two years pursuing his passion for coffee. He has roasted and developed coffee blends for a year and is currently a trainer of Baristas and has recently won the award for Best Cappuccino at the Gauteng Regional Barista Championships.
