Justice Project South Africa has warned motorists to take proof of address with them when renewing their vehicle licences.
A new National Road Traffic Regulation requiring that motorists must provide proof of identity and address kicked in on 1 November 2015.
This is similar to RICA in telecoms or FICA in banking and will be used to update the Electronic National Administration Traffic Information System (eNaTIS) database.
Motorists will have from November 2015 until November 2016 to provide the traffic department with updated proof of identity and address particulars.

Publiek word aangemoedig om te registreer

Verteenwoordigers van die Demokratiese Alliansie (DA) het onder andere by verskeie sentrums in Centurion die publiek aangemoedig om seker te maak hulle is geregistreer om aan die verkiesings deel te neem.
Registrasies kan gedurende die naweek van 5 & 6 Maart 2016 en op 9 & 10 April 2016 by die verskillende stemlokale gedoen word.

Fundraising event for Miss Deaf SA

An event was recently held in Centurion to raise funds for Miss Deaf SA, Janie Erasmus, to represent South Africa at the Miss Deaf World Pageant to be held in Czech Republic later this year.
Spokesperson for Miss Deaf SA Foundation, Liviena Smit said that besides raising funds for the reigning Miss Deaf SA, Janie Erasmus, part of the event’s objective was to raise funds for cochlear implants.
She said the hearing aids will help ease the stress levels among people with hearing difficulties through the Pretoria Academic Hospital’s ear department.

ATKV Centurion kyk terug na ‘n suksesvolle jaar

Die ATKV Centurion se jaarvergadering het op 4 Februarie 2016 in Centurion plaasgevind.
Die voorsitter, Sakkie Kotze het na die vele suksesprojekte asook die Internasionale Fietsrykongres in Pietermaritzburg verwys waarheen die tak genooi is om ‘n program van tradisionele Afrikaanse sang en musiek aan te bied met tradisionele eetgoed soos koeksisters en melktert.
Die tak se unieke Herinneringslied vir Anneke Mostert, ‘n skoolmeisie wat haar eie lewe geneem het weens ‘n spottery by die skool, het gehelp om by haar ouers, boeties, sussies en maats berusting te bring.

ATKV Centurion vermaak besoekers by Voortrekkermonument

Die Voortrekkermonument en die ATKV is jarelange kultuurvennote en tree die ATKV Centurionsangers en -musikante gereeld by die Monument op.
Gedurende Februarie 2016 het van hulle by die Monument musiek gemaak terwyl die een na die ander oorsese toergroepe ook met ons taal en kultuur kennis gemaak het.
Die groep Nederlandse toeriste was aangenaam verras toe een van die Forumlede Rommel van der Riet, hulle met tradisionele Afrikaanse sang, saag- en mondfluitjiespel uitgenooi het om “Sarie Marais” saam te sing.
Daarna het hy hulle verder verras deur Dana Winner se liedjie “Seven Regenbogen” …

Opwindende jaar vir Volkspele

Die volkspele beweging het onlangs sy 100-jarige bestaan gevier en is daar ‘n hele aantal nuwe spele vrygestel wat die totaal op 150 te staan bring.
In 2016 word die klem geplaas op uitbreiding en opleiding en word ‘n bekendstellingskursus sowel as leiers- en ander kort kursusse beplan.
Hierdie opleiding is gemik op persone wat heeltemal nuut en onbekend is met volkspele en die beweging tot persone wat hulle kennis van die fynere detail net wil opknap.

The Wierdabrug CPF Sector 3 recently received an invitation by the Tshwane Metro Region 4 Bylaw Enforcement Unit to participate in an operation to remove dagga plants to the value of more than R100 000 growing illegally in Raslouw.
Patrollers off Sector 3 as well as members from Monitor Net and Orange Fox security companies and Emergemed Emergency Services worked with the Metro officers removing the plants.
