26 May 2015 No Comment

Nomfundo Zonke, an 18 year old beauty from Centurion made it through to be a finalist in the Miss Teen Commonwealth South African pageant.
She grew up in the township Vosloorus but has been living in Centurion since 2010 and love the tranquil vibe of the area.
Growing up as a tomboy she never thought that she would ever be entering a beauty pageant.
Nomfundo was raised by a single mother and is the first born of two girls.
Her little sister will be turning five years in October but despite the huge age difference she adores her little sister.
“My mother is my pillar of strength and I love her to bits. She is definitely made of steel just like her mother,” Nomfundo says.
“My mom is a hard worker, has raised me in a Christian home and has installed values such as honesty and loyalty in me. She has taught me how to be humble and for that I will forever be grateful to her.”
The journey thus far has been an eye-opener for Nomfundo and one of her duty as a finalist is to give back in the community.
According to Nomfundo that is her favourite duty because to her nothing is more thrilling than to make someone else smile and make a difference in their lives.
Her chosen charity is KI-DEO Children’s home in Centurion.
This pageant has shown her that there is more to a pageant than glitz and glamour and nothing nicer than beauty with a purpose.
Nomfundo lives by the motto “Aspire to inspire so that you can be an inspiration.”
She believes that if she wins this pageant it will give her the platform to live out my motto to inspire younger girls and create a cycle of empowerment and productivity within them.
She will also continue with her duties at her chosen charity and reaching out and calling out to young girls to enter this pageant because in doing that they will make a difference within their community.
“Win or lose I will forever continue with my duties at my chosen charity because this pageant leaves a mark in your heart and makes you a giver forever.” Nomfundo concluded.
