Museums for a sustainable society

The theme for the International Museum Week 2015 is Museums for a sustainable society and highlights the role of museums in raising public awareness about the need for a society that is less wasteful, more cooperative and uses resources in a way that respects living systems.
The worldwide community of museums will celebrate International Museum Day on
18 May 2015.
DITSONG: Museums of South Africa, in collaboration with the Geo-Science Museum and City of Tshwane museums, will celebrate museums with week-long activities and open museums for free to the public from 18 to 24 May 2015.
This will give all schools, families and the public at large an opportunity for entertainment or education in the museums.
Musuems that can be visited include: National Museum of Natural History; National Museum of Cultural History; National Museum of Military History; Kruger Museum; Pioneer Museum; Willem Prinsloo Agricultural Museum; Tswaing Meteorite Crater; Sammy Marks Museum; National GeoSciences Museum; Pretoria Art Museum; Melrose House Museum and Fort Klapperkop Heritage Site.
