Lyttelton Clinic shelter welcomed by community

28 June 2015 No Comment

The Lyttelton Primary Health Care committee recently notched up a success in having a shelter erected to accommodate up to sixty-four persons waiting for attention by clinic staff.
In the past, community members visiting the clinic had to wait in the heat, cold or rain for attention but now have an overhead cover and seating space.
The clinic attends to up to 6,500 clients a month and the waiting time is sometimes up to an hour and a half.
Councillor Clive Napier (Ward 57) said that the opening of the shelter is definitely a major step forward in providing convenient and better primary health care for the local community.
“The Lyttelton Primary Health Care committee must be complimented on the good work being done for the community.” Councillor Napier said.
