New Signage for GEM Village

5 September 2010 No Comment

GEM Village, Irene was officially opened on 7 August 1985 as a memorial village for military veterans and celebrated their 25th anniversary on 7 August 2010.

Two of the residents at the village have been there since the opening of the village.

QPS Productions cc, Sign, Design & Print Specialists, also a proud member of the Centurion Business Forum, was honoured to accept the opportunity to give something small back to the community and they sponsored a new entrance sign for GEM Village to celebrate the occasion.

“Through the Centurion Business Forum and as businesses and residents of Centurion, we must make a stand together, not only to support each other but also to support the elderly and all other areas of the community”, Phillip Ardé, owner of QPS Productions cc said.

“It too often happens that we set aside thoughts of the elderly in our communities as well as their involvement and contributions to past events. We can and have so much to learn from them, but we don’t invest the time to do so and hence forfeit the knowledge and advice that could have otherwise been gained.” Phillip said.

The residents of GEM Village are all respected ex-members of our military who have proven themselves through their dedicated service to our country.

It is our corporate and private responsibility to do what we can to make their retirement as pleasant as possible and therefore urge other businesses and individuals to become involved, in this as well as other projects.

Through the Centurion Business Forum these opportunities to support our community and grow a strong network have been found.

Together we will all prosper.
