The Movember effect

6 December 2011 No Comment

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces around the world.

The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

Funds raised by the Movember community are enabling CANSA to develop a number of key programmes that are making a real difference to the lives of men and their families affected by prostate and testical cancer.

This is significant, when you consider one man in this country dies of prostate cancer every 4 hours, every day, more than 2,500 every year. All cancer diagnoses are life-changing.

Prostate cancer is complicated as men do not always display symptoms and can be faced with a complex range of treatment options. This means that clear information is critical.
