Support CANSA with Shavathon 2012

8 March 2012 No Comment

CANSA was born 80 years ago out of compassion for people whose lives had been touched by cancer. This is a significant milestone for any company and even more so for a non-profit organization (NPO). In 2011, CANSA invested R6m in cancer research and supported 13,300 individual cancer patients through their 261 support groups and 2,300 trained caregivers. They also visited and supported an average of 48,500 patients, undergoing cancer treatment in oncology clinics. CANSA is committed to connecting people facing cancer with the information, day-to-day help as well as emotional support they need – in the communities where they live – to help people through every step of the cancer journey, promoting a better quality of life to them and their loved ones. Your support helps them to continue the fight against cancer in South Africa and brings them closer to the challenge of a cancer-free society with this century. 2012 will be CANSA’s ninth Shavathon to be held on 1 -4 March 2012. For a donation of R50 for adults ad R25 for children under 12 years, you can shave or spray your hair at your workplace or at shopping centres and businesses such as Hirsch’s. New for CANSA Shavathon 2012 is an online platform for volunteers and corporate South Africa to take park as online “Champions” by raising funds. Visit www.shavathon.org.za or contact them toll-free on 0800 22 66 22.
