Grow a Mo in November

5 November 2012 No Comment

Nichelle Steyn

November has a new name and thousands of moustaches to go with it.

This is the month in which men can showcase their love for the moustache without repercussions and to show that they support the Movember cause.

The moustache is the equivalent of the pink ribbon that is the sign of support for breast cancer and the aim of this crazy hair-raising campaign is to create awareness especially for prostate cancer and cancers affecting men.

Men who want a free pass to grow a moustache must register and start with a clean-shaven face and then become known as Mo Bro’s.

The women can become Mo Sista’s when they register to stand behind their men and their moustache’s.

The attention of the moustache is unavoidable as Mo Bro’s will have the opportunity to steer any conversation in the direction of men’s health issues.

At the end of the month, the Mo Bro’s will officially qualify to throw party to celebrate their 30 days of hair-raising experiences.

Funds raised during this month will be directed to programmes that are run by Movember and the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA).

The innovative world-class programmes range from awareness, education, survivorship and research in prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

Come on Mo Bro’s and Mo Sista’s, register on website www.movember.com
