New SA website about lawyers and the law

18 July 2014 No Comment

With the explosive growth of internet access in South Africa, people are researching law related topics online.
Chris van der Maas, an attorney with 23 years of experience, initiated a new website containing more than 400 FAQ’s on a wide variety of legal topics.
Chris claims that this website contains the largest amount of free legal information on the internet in South Africa today and also features over 275 Legislation Acts.
Of interest is the short biography of Madiba the Lawyer, as well as definitions of those pesky Latin phrases that are still used by the courts and the legal profession today.
“Know the law and you will be in a better position to make informed decisions and to protect your rights” says Chris van der Maas, adding that “if South Africa is to reach its potential as a constitutional democracy and claim adherence to the Rule of Law, we must at least ensure that information about lawyers and the law is freely available.”
Visit the website www.lawyer.co.za or the Afrikaans version at www.prokureur.com.
