Project underway for a Cleaner and Safer Centurion

16 August 2014 No Comment

An initiative by the Centurion Business Forum to improve the Centurion inner city and surrounds has resulted in the introduction of the Centurion City Improvement District (CENCID) that will be managed by Urban Genesis Management. Nondumiso Khumalo will be managing the project.
The owners of all the properties where contacted and the majority of them opted to assist in the cleaning-up process by making the necessary funds available on a monthly basis.
With effect from 1 July 2014 CENCID appointed own security staff around the Centurion Mall area and in conjunction with the City of Tshwane started the cleaning-up process around the Centurion Lake.
“This marked the beginning of the drive where residents and employees will be able to live and work in a safer, cleaner and vibrant Centurion,” said Louise Huyser, chairperson for the Centurion Business Forum.
A cleaner lake will also mean the environment and birdlife will improve for people to enjoy again.
Sidewalks would be cleaned, broken kerbs to be fixed and already there is a decrease in smash and grab cases on the corner of Hendrik Verwoerd- and West Street.
